Alice Cooper & Rob Zombie Tour!

It's a bill that fans of horror and hard rock could only dream of until now: For the first time ever, the "gruesome twosome" — ALICE COOPER and ROB ZOMBIE — will play an exclusive limited run of North American tour dates beginning April 26 at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Rob Zombie commented, "The dream or nightmare comes true! Me and The Coop have been talking about touring together for about 15 years and finally the moment is here. This will be without a doubt a rock 'n' roll spooktacular for all the cool ghouls."

Alice Cooper added, "I'm looking forward to these concerts with Rob. It's sort of like Dracula vs. Frankenstein, we're like this generation’s classic monsters. When we're not onstage frightening audiences, we'll be backstage trying to scare each other."

New Vince Neil Video and Song posted!

I really like Vince Neil's band. Its the band that plays at Feelgood's here in Vegas all the time. I really love the song as it is pretty rockin' but the content...well... The band is made up of Blando and Zoltan, a drummer that has made me sit there in awe many times and bassist Pedro Sison.
Not a bad song at all!!

MASTERPLAN: New Album Title, Release Date Announced - Feb. 10, 2010

MASTERPLAN, the melodic power metal band led by former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow, has set "Time To Be King" as the title of its new album, due on April 16. A single will precede the full-length CD in March.

MASTERPLAN vocalist Jorn Lande told Germany's Rock Hard magazine last year about his renewed collaboration with MASTERPLAN, "We never had problems with each other, but professionally, we decided for to go separate ways for a while. . . I am happy that we are . . . working together again — mainly because the combination of MASTERPLAN's music and my singing [is] truly something special."

Lande left MASTERPLAN in May 2006, citing "musical differences" between the vocalist and the rest of the band. During the songwriting process for the group's third album, it became increasingly apparent that the other members of the band had different visions and plans for the group's musical direction. While Jorn allegedly wanted MASTERPLAN to follow a more melodic path, the rest of the band apparently wanted to return to the metallic roots of their debut album.

Vocalist Mike DiMeo (RIOT, THE LIZARDS) announced his departure from MASTERPLAN in January 2009 after recording just one studio album with the group — 2007's "MK II".

Lande's latest solo album, "Spirit Black", was released in June 2009 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2008's "Lonely Are The Brave" CD — which entered the national chart in Norway at No. 28 and Sweden at No. 42 — was described by Jorn as "a solid and defined album that will shake the classic metal world and hammer the future Jorn legacy in stone!"

Jorn Lande cut his teeth with such internationally renowned acts as ARK, MILLENIUM, VAGABOND and THE SNAKES.

RUSSELL ALLEN FROM SYMPHONY X TO JOIN AVANTASIA ALBUM!!

Vocalist Russell Allen from U.S. progressive metallers SYMPHONY X, has joined the list of guest musicians who will appear on the forthcoming release from EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet's AVANTASIA project.

So far Tobias has confirmed the following musicians to be part of the forthcoming AVANTASIA opus:

Sammet has decided that the forthcoming chapter from AVANTASIA will be spread over two albums. He explained: "I have always given my very best, but this new chapter in AVANTASIA's history is too much and too ambitious to be just a regular album. I have worked on it for years now, and it has become even more than two albums!

"I knew that story would be spread out over two albums back then when we started working on it in 2006, 'cause we had written a real rock opera of over 20 songs even back then. But since then, we kept composing, and out came even bigger and better material.

"Looking at the music industry today with all the CD burning and downloading, I guess in the near future many of us traditional rock and metal bands won't be able to spend such a production budget. I am afraid I won't be able to afford so many guests and such a big production with orchestration and a choir and all that. That's why this production takes so much time; it may be the last big epic I will be able to afford, and I want it to be the biggest piece I have worked on so far."

Kiske has appeared on every AVANTASIA album so far, including the first two full-length releases, "The Metal Opera" (2001) and "The Metal Opera Pt. II" (2002).

Regarding the new AVANTASIA album's musical direction, Sammet recently stated, "We've got quite many songs, and it ranges from epic ballads to metal opera. From pop to hard rock to folk to speed metal. My best friend, who co-wrote the story of 'The Metal Opera' back then, just listened to some of the tracks and he said that it will blow people away and enchant AVANTASIA fans and it will surely piss people off . . . It's just enchanting music. And these days honest and good music is kind of offending to some, that's pretty sick, isn't it? But as long as I get goose bumps hearing majestic music, I do not really care if I am fashionable or not."

The most recent album from AVANTASIA, "The Scarecrow", was one of the 20 best-selling albums in whole Europe during the fourth week of January 2008, according to a press release.

"The Scarecrow" was released on January 25, 2008 as a standard CD as well as rare picture (double) vinyl. It features a long list of guest musicians, including Bob Catley, ex-MASTERPLAN frontman Jorn Lande, ex-HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske, Alice Cooper, KISS drummer Eric Singer, SCORPIONS guitarist Rudolf Schenker and GAMMA RAY's Kai Hansen. The album produced a Top 10 German hit single, "Lost In Space", and entered the national charts in 15 countries, with the CD landing in the Top 10 in four countries.

SAXON is going to FINALLY get a real US tour and they are coming to the west coast in Feburary!!! I am so excited!!! Lol!!! One of the greatest NWOBHM bands ever!!! And ANVIL is opening!!! Should be a SICK show not to miss so get your asses out there and see these guys!! They are also one of the greatest LIVE metal bands ever!!! This is what Biff was talking to me about when I spoke with him on the phone!! I am so happy for them!!

I feel like the kid on Almost Famous, who gets to go on the road with a band and when he gets home from the tour, he flops down on his bed, realizes there’s no place like home and his bed is too good to be true. I got home yesterday from being on the road with one of my all time fave bands, Pagan’s Mind, and I don’t think I was ever so happy to get a bath in my life. My bed felt like heaven, and even though I had the time of my life it, was good to be home.
My journey started with me receiving an e-mail from Frode, their manager and good friend, asking me if I would like to help sell merch at Prog-Power X in Atlanta, Georgia. I told him I would love to help where I could, and then another e- mail came asking if I would like to go on tour for a few gig’s on the East Coast part of the tour to help sell merch on the Headlining show’s. TIM " THE RIPPER" OWENS TO GUEST ON NEW AVANTASIA!!

Powerhouse heavy metal singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, BEYOND FEAR) will guest on the forthcoming album from EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet's AVANTASIA project.

Commented Tobias: "I had this pretty heavy riff monster and I remembered a JUDAS PRIEST live album with 'the new singer' on vocals. I listened again and when I heard him sing 'Metal Gods' and 'Painkiller', I knew that this was the voice I so desperately needed for the song.

"Tim is a cool guy and a scream machine. He makes his voice spit out the most aggressive high notes I have ever heard while fully controlling it.

SAXON ON THE PHONE WITH LEAH TODAY!!

OK , so I am reposting a reply on the Ultimate Forum today about Saxon playing at Prog/Power one day (http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/progpower-usa/520611-saxon-shadow-gallery.html) and this phone call happened:

Here is how it happened:
You guys are not going to believe this!! I just got off the phone with my buddy Taylor. He is at the Airport in Texas awaiting a flight to Cali when he suddenly see's SAXON!!! He called me and said hey Biff is here in this store ..I was like Hey let me say hi!!! (I met them and saw them at Wacken 07 at the pre- show and at the fest and worked on Nigel Glocker backstage) I went to see them specifically at WOA!! So whats he do? He hands the phone to Biff "freakin" Bifford and I was talking with one of my heros!!! He remembered me from the show and I aplogized that I cant see them tomorrow but he told me to look out for them soon on a tour here in the states maybe after Nov!!! I was estatic!! He was so cool and gave me over to Paul Quinn to chat for a min... He was like, "Oh the American girl at the Pre-show!!" Hahaa! I make an impression!!! I am telling you I am still shaking like a leaf...I LOVE SAXON so much!!! Crazy that I posted a reply to this and then I get this call and was talking to them like two minutes later!!!....How random is that?????? Freakin awesome!!! Thank you Taylor and SAXON!!! SAXON RULE!!!!

BRAINSTORM: NEW CD ART RELEASED!!

The cover artwork for "Memorial Roots", the new album from German melodic metallers BRAINSTORM, can be viewed below. Due on October 16 via the band's new label, AFM Records, the CD was mixed at the Gate Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany under the watchful eye of Sascha Paeth and Miro as producers. 15 songs were recorded for the album, including "Forsake What I Believed", which frontman Andy B. Franck calls "a headcrusher."

BRAINSTORM's latest album, "Downburst", registered the following first-week chart positions: Hungary: #15; Germany: #53; Switzerland: #96.

Metal Blade in June 2007 released the first-ever BRAINSTORM DVD, "Honey from the B's (Beasting around the Bush)". The box set was released in digipack format "with special metal effect." The disc entered the Hungarian Music DVD chart at position No. 18.

They will also be playing at Prog-Power USA X in Atlanta Georgia,Sept 12th with Pagan's Mind and Circus Maximus!! Those three bands are what I am waiting for!!!!
