2/27/08 AIRBOURNE,ENDEVERAFTER &STONE RIDER@THE BEAUTY BAR!

I was excited for a few weeks for the performace I was about to see on weds the 27th at the Beauty Bar. There was to be real ROCK SHOW in Vegas. There are two bands on the scene right now that are rippin' up the charts and breaking hearts where-ever they go, I am sure! One is Airbourne from Australia that have a strange way of taking you back to the AC/DC days of old and kicking your ass with killer tunes. Their new CD called "Runnin Wild", is doing huge and shows that the kids are ready to rawk! I am so glad to see these bands because they are bringin the ROCK back. Not the boring cheese they usually play on the radio..."real" freakin ROCK...fist pumpin', head-bangin,beer drinkin',party rock. The shit we have been missin for years!

Then there is this beautiful,talented,super-charged, and ready to kick your ass band called Endeverafter, whom also have a new cd out called "Kiss or Kill". I loved these guys before I even heard them because a.) They are gorgeous and b.) They are the sweetest boys around!!! Now that I have heard them and seen them, I am blown away by them.

They are visually stimulating (ladies,you know what I mean!!) and have so much energy and their songs hold up onstage!! Michael Grant,their frontman/singer/guitarist is a new guitar hero and so is Kristan Mallory all sexy in white.

I think their bass player,Tommi Andrews is the most gorgeous man I have ever seen!

After they went off stage I had tears in my eyes, because they were so AMAZING!! Yes, their music kicks ass!! They are the new band for the 21st century! I think they have rock-star written all over them and I predict they will be HUGE!

The first band that I didnt even know that was playing, Stone Rider, are a bunch of sweet Atlana Georgia boys that play some classic/southern/old school rock.



They were kick ass onstage,but I think the pairing with the other bands was weird,being as they were all laid back and cool. The other bands are so freakin high energy,it just didnt seem right. They were sweet and great though so I bought their CD too called "Three Legs of Trouble". Listened to it today and I really like it!!! They have a Zep/Hendrix/Skynard feel to them.


The highlight of the nite (After Endeverafter of couse!!) was the prodigy's called Airbourne!!!! They come out like a hurricane and smash you in the face with a wall of sound!!! They had 4 freakin' Marshall Stacks and it was so loud,my ears HURT!! I was right up front and after two songs I stuffed napkins in my ears!!! It was an onslaught of ROCK/METAL!!!! They played all the faves from the new cd like ,"Too Much Too Young Too Fast,Runnin Wild,BlackJack and Fat City!!! I love their songs that are singable and memorable!! All I can tell ya was I was just so in AWE of these 4 kids from Down Under,that have that AC/DC sound. I wonder what Angus thinks of them: is he flattered,or is he pissed that he cant do it like that anymore...we all get older. I would still see em if they came through and would LOVE it! (So come on AC/DC..its TIME!!!)
This freakin' show was one NOT to miss and I know a lot of people that did miss it..... I would not have missed it for the WORLD!!! IT WAS INSANE!!!! Thanks to all the bands for being so patient with all my picture taking and Endeverafter...I LOVE you guys! Enjoy the photo's!!!

2/25/08 Sin City Sinners w/ Frankie Banalli & Paul Shortino!

The Sin City Sinners had another special nite awaiting we rock/metal fnas last tuesday nite! They brought out the talented drummer from Quiet Riot,Frankie Banalli, to play some tunes for us. Also my new fave guy on the Vegas Scene,Paul Shortino(Rough Cutt/Quiet Riot) came out to sing us some more songs.

It was the first time in ages that the two legends have reunited together to play a Quiet Riot tune from their cd QR,when Paul joined them when Kevin DuBrow split for a bit. They played "Stay With Me Tonight" which is an awesome song! Frankie told me he would never play another Kevin DuBrow song because it was just too painful. So that was the only song they did from Quiet Riot and that was the reason.

It was a cool set of rockers with Paul singing House Of Pain,Livin Lovin',and Whole Lotta Love.
It was great meeting Frankie and seeing these two legends onstage togther again. They had a blast and so did we the willing rockers that live for moments like this!
Frankie stayed around and signed autographs on records and took lots of photos. Including one with me and Paul...

There were a lot of familiar faces at the show inckuding Sex Pop Suicide and Gabe!


As always Morpheus and Tamrin were on hand to support the show!


We all had a blast and I hope to see more tuesday nites like these with the Sin City Sinners at Dive Bar!!!!!!!

2/23/08 LATE NITE @THE DIVE BAR: PEARLW/SCOTT IAN

After the ATR show at Jillians I was called by my boss from MOJOREPUBLIK.COM and he told me that there was a free show at the Dive Bar with Meat Loaf's daugter Pearl's band would be playing and Scott Ian from Anthrax was in the band too. So I zipped over from downtown to Trop and Pecos where the Dive is and got there just in time to see something that I wasnt expecting. A kick ass rock band with an amazing beautiful singer, which was Pearl. I have seen her on some show singing with her dad that was a few years ago and she definatly got a great voice from her Pop!

Her hubby,Scott Ian layed out the licks for her and looked to be having a good time. I was surprised when he actually hung out for a few pix and autographs after the show. He was actually cool to us. (he hasnt been before that is why I am stating this fact. He has been rude and flippant with us on a few occasions,that is why I was so surprised)

The band was tight and I think they are called Mother Superior(thats what was on the flyer) and Pearl just looked so natural onstage,like she has been there all her life.

After the show me and Ski(the Punk Rock Papparazzi) got the band to pose for a couple of shots and it was difficult to get them all togther,but they finally did get togther and here is the proof..hehehe.

It was a kewl show and I would go see her again if she pops through Vegas. Hope she goes far and keeps rockin'!!!

2/23/08 ALL THAT REMAINS & CHIMARIA@ JILLIANS

I dont usually go to hardcore shows at Jillians because its just not my cup of tea and its usually all ages. That is well and good that they have them because the kids that are into metal need somewhere to go to get that anger and frustration out to some brutal metal. Its a good way to vent and I was really like that too, when I was a kid..now I just enjoy my music because I am not all angry anymore(thank GAWD!) So when a friend of mine that I met at an Arch Enemy show asked me to come on down for a visit and that I should bring my camera, I said what the hell. Only going to miss Slaughter,where everyone in Vegas that I knew was supposed to be at. I am into learning and doing differnt things as of late,so this was something new to try out.
So I get there and get my all access pass and hang with my friend Recon, and have a couple of beers. The only thing I hate about Jillians is it takes forever to get a beer and even longer to get some munchies. So we chat and I hear Seventh Son going on with Chris barely being heard downstairs. The sound was sad. This band from Vegas is killer and should get some decent sound. Then after that a new and really young band called Black Tide went on with some melodic form of metal that wasnt really like the next two bands that were to take the stage. But they were killer for a bunch of teenagers! Good to see them bringin on the metal!! \m/\m/
The place was thronged with sweaty kids that were ready for some moshing and venting when Chimaria came out there was a huge surge to the stage. This is a killer hardcore band with some serious shredding and blast beats! A talented band but not my cup o' tea...still good for what they do!!

After a serious dose of ass kicking thanks to Chimaria,it was time to see the headliner called All That Remains.. I didnt know what to expect,but these were some talented musicians with a singer of small stature named Phil, that doesnt let that get in his way and he looks impressive up on the stage! The melodic guitar parts were killer and also the melodic singing during chorus'. I think they were a great band but ya know how I cant stand screamer/growlers. I dealt with it though and Recon took me behind the stage to watch the drummer Justin blasting out the beats...he was fucking impressive and was sweating all over the place. He was amazing!!! That was a cool perspective, I gotta tell ya behind the drum-kit. Never have done that before and was grateful to be there,instead of out front...it was brutal as all hell out there. Some kid got thrown over the barricade and I took a deep breath, waiting to see if he would come out,and he did. That was close!

2/16/08 RED CARPET EVENT@ HOB:STARLIGHT TATTOO GRAND OPENING!

I have been to a few red carpet events in Vegas like the Oceans 13 one with Brad Pitt and George Clooney at the Palms(where I actually got to meet Brad and get him to autograph a photo of him!) but I was a fan/looky loo the last few times. This time I got a pass for the photo-pit at the STARLIGHT TATOO grand opening party, and got to be an actual papparazzi, like in Hollywood!! I have to tell you...it was exciting as it was nerve wracking! All the photographers are jumping in your way and video guys are right in front of the celebs. You really gotta be fast or you can miss a shot! I am not complaining...it was a blast!! I had so much fun and got to chat with a few clebs and its always nice to get a hug from my ol buddy Criss Angel. Speaking of Criss, he was sporting a new really furry beard and a new girlfriend who is Miss Nevada,who Criss proclaimed is going to win miss USA or was it Universe? He said he did in fact get premonitions. Well I have seen women come and go since his split with his wifey,like Cameron Diaz,who lasted like a minute, so I see this one lasting at least a few months.....

This is Tattood Millionaries who found me on myspace and asked me to come out and play!! Crazy guys! They played at the party...


Then we had the beautiful Tera Patrick pose for us with her new tattoo she had just recieved from some famous asian tat artist.... she said he was very gentle,when I asked her if it hurt.

She posed with her tatted out man of Biohazard fame,Evan Seinfeld and they looked really hot together...

We had the stunning Vivica Fox pose for us and I asked her if she was going to get a tat and she replied, I already have 11...we laughed and said none we could see...

Evan's new band called the Spyders cruised out to pose for us...they played the party too...


Dave Navarro came out with DJ Skribble to say hey to us...Dave is so hot!!!


Then we had the gorgeuos but too skinny Shauna Sands come out and strut her stuff...


The band of violinists and beautiful triplets,Alizma came out and looked amazing....even though they are identical,they all have different looks...


Ice, Ice Baby, Vanilla Ice came out and sported some tats from Starlight...he said he was still rocking!

It was incredible to be there to see the stars come out!! The tattoo shop looks killer and I am sure it will be successful. Give it time, I predict a new reality show done from there like Inked and LA Ink...

2/10/08 WEDNESDAY 13 AT THE ROX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my friend Diane drug my ass all the way outta bed on a sunday nite to go to the ROX to see WEDNESDAY 13, I wasnt expecting too much because I had never heard him,or so I thought...I get there to find out(because I had no clue) that Wednesday 13 was the singer of the Murder Dolls,whom I fucking love!! They were only out for a cd and they went fast, but that cd ROCKED!!
Wednesday reminded me of Manson/Rob Zombie with a Hollywood Sleaze twist. He had really long dreadlocks and was all decked out in kick-ass clothes.


When these guys came out it was super chaotic and frenzied! They played songs off his new Cd Fang Bang and also Transylvania 90210. His old Murder Dolls bandmate Acey Spade was there beside Wednsday just pumping out the licks.

His band consists of Johnny Chops on Drums,Nate Manor on Bass and J-Sin on Guitars. They played an array of Wednsday 13 songs along with some Murder Doll faves like 197666, Die my Bride,and Dead in Hollywood. They did new stuff like Rambo and FUCK.

He used a few props that were really kewl...



Unfortunatley for the band the crowd was small...I dont know if it was just because it was a sunday or that I never saw it advertised,but I felt bad that hardly anyone was there but the band still gave it their all and rawked the ROX down!! I was so happy that Diane made me get outta bed to see these guys live,because I would have regretted not seeing them. Wednesday 13 just RULEZ!!!
